Administration Officer – 2025
1.0 FTE

Join our team and work in a holistic education setting in an established Steiner School, offering Early Childhood learning, Primary and High School Steiner Education.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a high-quality front-line reception service to families, staff, and visitors, as well as providing an efficient and effective administration support to the school. You should possess excellent communication skills and team-oriented attributes, be well organised and able to exercise judgement, set priorities and schedule work to meet deadlines.

Golden Hill Steiner School is located in the beautiful coastal town of Denmark, in a peaceful semi-rural setting. Our school staff are a friendly, supportive team who enjoy a great working environment.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Receive all visitors to the school and direct as required.
  • Answer and manage all incoming telephone calls and messages in a timely manner.
  • Operate school databases, records and management information systems.
  • Other office/ administration duties as required.

  

Selection Criteria

We are happy to provide training for many aspects of the role whilst ‘on the job’. However, essential criteria includes:  

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Student Management Systems. 
  • Professional oral and written communication skills. 
  • An ability to maintain a professional attitude to all aspects of the job. 
  • An ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and our community.

 

Highly Desirable 

  • Previous experience in reception and/or administrative roles
  • Familiarity with the operations of a Steiner school or other educational institution.

Strings Teacher

Commencing February 2025

Golden Hill Steiner School is seeking a part-time strings teacher to develop and enliven our strings (Violin & cello) program in our primary and high school. Instruction is in small groups of 3-8 children, between the ages of 9 and 15 years old.

WA teaching qualifications are highly regarded.

 

It is essential that applicants are:

  • able to read music and teach notation
  • proficient in violin and also able to teach cello
  • passionate about engaging students and bringing to life our strings program
  • experienced in teaching –both groups and individuals

 

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Instruct small groups of students in violin, cello and music theory
  • Lead students in performing at school festivals, class plays and local events
  • Facilitate weekly GHSS ensemble group

Essential Requirements

-Current registration with the Teachers Registration Board WA (for Teaching Staff)
-Current WA Working with Children Check 
- A knowledge of, or genuine interest in, and willingness to learn about Steiner education
- Ability to work independently and as a part of our team
- Excellent communication skills

-Non-teaching Staff are required to have a Police Clearance Certificate
